Animals slaughtered by people of the Book if not slaughtered according to Shari`ah

A: It is permissible for Muslims to eat from animals slaughtered by the People of the Book, provided that they are slaughtered according to the proper Islamic manner of slaughtering. Allah (Exalted be He) says: The food (slaughtered cattle, eatable animals) of the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) is lawful to you However, it is forbidden for Muslims to eat from animals slaughtered by the People of the Book if they do not apply the Islamic method of slaughtering. Allah (Exalted be He) says: Forbidden to you (for food) are: Al-Maitah (the dead animals - cattle - beast not slaughtered) up till: ...unless you are able to slaughter it (before its death) And Allah knows best. May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
